HP Demonstrates Mobile Printing Applications

Press release from the issuing company

At Autodesk University 2011, HP is demonstrating its portfolio of web-connected large-format printing and sharing solutions and workstations that improve mobility, collaboration and efficiency.

In booth 100, HP will showcase its award-winning HP Z Workstations, as well as its web-connected HP Designjet ePrinters and eMFP with the new HP ePrint & Share mobile application for the iPhone, iPad® or iPod touch®(1) that allows professionals in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry to print and share plans through the cloud where they work.(2) Since the mobile application launched in October, registrations for HP ePrint & Share(3) have tripled, demonstrating the high demand from AEC professionals for mobile tools.

HP and Autodesk are also demonstrating a new HP-enabled cloud printing functionality for Autodesk AutoCAD WS in the HP booth and Autodesk Pavilion. By registering for HP ePrint & Share, users can easily access and print their designs on any web-connected HP Designjet ePrinter directly from AutoCAD WS with full control over plot styles, paper sizes, layouts and more.

“Professionals in the Autodesk community are always on the go, traveling between the office and the job site with a need to access, print and share their large-format designs along the way,” said Santiago Morera, vice president and general manager, Large Format Printing, HP. “At Autodesk University, we will show how HP has responded to this need with the HP ePrint & Share mobile application and by working with Autodesk to provide remote printing capabilities to their more than three million AutoCAD WS users.”

Comprehensive design solutions from HP for AEC professionals

HP is leading the way in providing solutions for technical design professionals, including the industry’s only portfolio of web-connected large-format ePrinters and HP Z Workstations, which are some of the fastest, most expandable and reliable computers available today.

Designed for medium and large AEC firms and enterprise businesses, the HP Designjet T2300 eMultifunction Printer (eMFP) offers scan, print and copy functionality and the industry’s first true large-format multifunction device priced below $8,500, opening the door to in-house large-format printing for more customers.(4) Available in 24- or 44-inch models, the HP Designjet T790 ePrinter is tailored for small, mobile technical design teams and features an easily accessible top-loading roll and 8 gigabytes of memory.

The HP ePrinter portfolio offers direct access to HP’s award-winning ePrint & Share tool, which simplifies large-format printing by allowing users to print without installing drivers or opening applications. With the HP ePrint & Share plug-in for AutoCAD, users can access the tool directly from Autodesk’s industry-leading AutoCAD design and documentation application and create print-ready files with just one click.

HP Z Workstations help AEC users deal with the most complex data, designs, 3D models, analysis and information. HP’s industry-leading independent software vendor program ensures comprehensive workstation testing, tuning and certification across a very wide variety of applications. In fact, AutoCAD, the world’s leading 2D and 3D design-documentation platform, is developed primarily on HP hardware. More than 100 other Autodesk products also use HP technology extensively in development.
