Kern Launches New K90 Modules at Cartes

Press release from the issuing company

Kern, a world leader in high performance mailing solutions, has added a number of innovative new modules to its K90 Card System, offering even greater flexibility and increasing the applications for which it can be used.

The K90 was first launched in the UK in April and the new modules are being demonstrated for the first time from 15th to 17th November in Paris at the CARTES & IDentification exhibition, the world leading event for digital security and smart technologies.

The new optional modules available include a card carrier, laser printer and laser engraver to personalise cards, a multi-card feeder for the gift card market, and a read/print mode which reads a card’s ID, interrogates the look-up table and prints the details on the card carrier.

Ideal for credit cards, loyalty and gift cards or SIM cards for mobile phones, the K90 features RoboCard technology which provides opportunities for far greater creativity in card mailings than ever before. The pick and place robot is able to place up to eight cards on a single document and can position cards in any position and at any angle.

Clive Martin, Kern’s UK sales manager for mailing, said: “The K90 is an extremely user friendly machine that can be used for a wide range of applications and is particularly suitable for the retail, telecoms and finance sectors. The new modules that are now available will enable users to create even more personalised and creative card mailings.”

Being modular, the Kern 90 interfaces seamlessly with existing Kern mailing systems such as the 2500 and 2600, enabling completed mailers to be neatly inserted into envelopes, which could also be personalised with black or colour print before being posted.
