Roland Introduces ADA Kits for EGX Engravers

By WhatTheyThink

Roland DGA Corp. has introduced ADA Sign Solutions designed exclusively for use with the company’s EGX-350 and EGX-400/600 professional engraving machines.  Complete with everything needed to produce tamper-resistant ADA and Raster® Braille signage, Roland is offering two complete ADA kits that enable EGX users to meet state and federal mandatory compliance regulations that go into effect on March 15, 2012.

“We have designed an affordable, yet highly precise solution tailored for all types of ADA signage,” said Rick Rivera, product manager for Roland DGA Corp.  “With strict enforcement of ADA laws in 2012, we believe the time is right for sign and engraving professionals to get into this growing market.”

Beginning in March, mandatory compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 2010, and the recently adopted ADA Standards for Accessible Design, will be required for all new construction and alterations as directed by The United States Department of Justice. The newly enforced regulations affect both the production and implementation of ADA-compliant signage, including the mounting location and height, finish and contrast, and raised and Braille characters.

The new ADA regulations apply to any sign that designates permanent rooms and spaces, and where goods and services are made available to the public, including resorts, hotels, hospitals and other medical facilities, entertainment and cultural sites, and educational facilities.

Roland’s new ADA Sign Solutions are designed to help businesses build a profitable ADA signage business.  Each kit builds on a Roland EGX engraver with an engraving tool set, Braille and profile cutters, CADlink EngraveLab™ Expert software, Rowmark engravable ADA-compliant materials, adhesive sheets, an Accent Signage, Inc. Raster® Pen License Kit, and a self-contained chip removal system.  The EGX-350 ADA Kit comes standard with a Manual Raster® Pen, while the EGX-400 and EGX-600 ADA Kits include both the Manual and Auto-Raster Pen that dramatically speeds up production time.

In addition to ADA signage, Roland engraving machines produce custom awards, promotional items, badges, nameplates, key rings and luggage tags. They personalize everything from jewelry to treasured mementos, and can even be used for rhinestone apparel decoration.

Roland ADA Sign Solutions, including an EGX-350 or EGX-400/600 engraving machine and corresponding ADA kit, are available in the United States from authorized Roland dealers, with bundled prices starting under $10,000.
