Kodak  took home honors during the Green Printing in China 2011 Green Awards held on Sept. 2 at the China Science and Technology Hall in Beijing. At the ceremony, the KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press Platform received a "Green Equipment Award" for its impressive environmental attributes including water-based ink, long-lasting printhead, and print on-demand option.

      Sponsored by the largest printing technology research institute in China, the China Academy of Printing Technology, and the media group Keyin.cn, the Green Printing in China 2011 Green Awards are given to companies at the discretion of a panel of industry experts.

      The Green Printing in China 2011 Green Awards featured eight major categories including, "Green Elite," "Green Supplies," "Green Printing," "Green Equipment," "Green Company," "Special Recommendation," "Most Popular in Internet," and "Green Promotion." Kodak was one of ten companies that received an award in the "Green Equipment" category, demonstrating the company's continued commitment to improving sustainability in the printing industry.

      The KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press Platform was selected for the "Green Equipment Award" based on the following criteria:

In fact, KODAK PROSPER Press Solutions use proprietary micro-milled pigment inks that provide outstanding permanence. While most printheads need to be replaced, Kodak printheads can be refurbished and offer a re-use rate as high as 95 percent.  

·         The KODAK PROSPER 1000 Press provides a sustainable business model based on print on-demand features. With the ability to print on-demand, publishers can reduce both waste and inventory levels associated with printing quantities that are too large.
