Goss International CEO Earns Harold W. Gegenheimer Award

NPES, the North American Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies has honored Jochen Meissner, president and chief executive officer of Goss International Corporation with the 2011 Harold W. Gegenheimer Individual Service Award. The award recognizes leadership and participation in NPES and print industry activities as well as civic leadership.
 
“Jochen embodies all the best qualities of Harold W. Gegenheimer: a lifelong commitment to technical advancement, unique innovation, sound management and leadership, and tireless work on behalf of the industry,” said Ralph J. Nappi, president of NPES. “We are honored to be able to recognize Jochen’s great influence on, and many contributions to, our industry.”
 
The NPES made reference to Meissner having been “instrumental in establishing Goss as a premier brand in the printing industry, expanding the company’s focus and resources, and extending its technology leadership position through unique innovations within its web press and print finishing product platforms.”
 
As president and CEO of Goss International, Meissner leads an organization that manufactures industrial printing equipment in the United States, Europe and Asia and sustains a worldwide sales and support network. He has extensive international experience through sales, management, engineering, manufacturing, operations and executive positions with leading suppliers in the printing equipment industry over the past 25 years.
 
Meissner was appointed president and CEO of Goss International in 2008. He joined the organization as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2002.
 
Meissner has served on the NPES Board of Directors for the past seven years and currently serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the group’s Board of Directors. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Aachen in Germany in 1982.
 
The Gegenheimer Award is named for former NPES president and Baldwin Technology Company chairman emeritus Harold W. Gegenheimer and was presented at the NPES 2011 Annual Conference, October 17–19. NPES is a U.S. trade association representing more than 400 companies that manufacture and distribute equipment, software and supplies used across the workflow of nearly every printing, publishing and converting process.
