TNT Post multiplies services value with Océ printing technology

Press release from the issuing company

Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that TNT Post, after an international multi-level tender that assessed the biggest players in the market, has chosen the Océ JetStream® 2200 and the Océ ColorStream® 3500 to be placed in Italy and the Netherlands respectively.

The winning formula

TNT Post Italy, since its foundation in 1998, has been the first private player in the national post market. The mail service provider has developed a business model in Italy which is based on the establishment of acquisition and processing data, production and customization of documents, inserting and distribution.

The criteria that helped TNT Post Italy to decide in favor of Océ were proven technologies, a convincing price/performance ratio, the solid brand and the common interest of both companies in sustainability. The high level of involvement and cooperation shown by Océ service and consulting staff during the project phase was crucial.

The agreement signed relates to the installation of one Océ JetStream 2200 in the TNT Post facility in Milan. TNT Post planned this investment to strengthen its offerings, as a unique supplier of printing, distribution and communication services, for its own customers in the corporate enterprise and banking segments.

Océ JetStream 2200, a win-win decision

“To offer the possibilities of this technology to our customers means that we can more and more act as a partner of choice for handling a broader services portfolio, which adds value to the postal delivery”, says Roberto Livio, Managing Director Production at TNT Post Italy. “The market is going towards full color in order to increase the effectiveness of communication and, thanks to the Océ JetStream, TNT Post’s strategy of focusing on the transactional mailing business can leverage an asset with a higher strategic value.”

The Océ JetStream 2200 consists of a dual-tower configuration with speeds of 150 mpm. With its excellent print quality, together with a paper width of 520 mm, the Océ JetStream 2200 is particularly suited for applications in the field of transaction, TransPromo, direct mail, but also for newspaper and book/magazines printing.

A high-speed project

The project was efficiently managed by the Océ Italy team, and the installation was completed very quickly considering the complexity of the system. Furthermore, less than a month after the start of production, the Océ JetStream produced 20 million A4 pages, confirming the excellence of the TNT Post–Océ team in preparing and implementing the project.

“We are glad that TNT Post opted for the Océ JetStream 2200. With its excellent print quality, speed and productivity, it is particularly suited for applications in the field of transaction, TransPromo and direct mail. As a member of the Océ JetStream dual series, the Océ JetStream 2200 also offers TNT Post a smooth and seamless path of growth in paper output considerably shortening production windows,” says Sebastian Landesberger, Executive Vice President Océ Production Printing.
