Leading Vendors Join Northeast Graphics Show

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA (Oct. 20, 2003) — Xerox Corp., Kodak Polychrome Graphics, C.P. Bourg, Printable Technologies and regional equipment distributor Pasquariello Graphics Inc. are the latest industry suppliers to join the growing ranks of companies that will exhibit at Northeast Graphics, the regional trade show and exposition scheduled for Nov. 20-22 at the Worcester Centrum Centre. Xerox will showcase its DocuColor 3535 printer/copier, an affordable reprographic machine which leverages the print engine technology of the DocuColor 12 and Xerox’s exclusive Emulsion Aggregation toner to produce professional quality, black and white or full-color finished documents quickly and easily in an economical way. “We believe this will be the product of choice for high-quality, low-cost mid-range printing, copying and scanning,” said Jim Miller, president of Xerox’s Office Group. The DocuColor 3535 plays in a color multi-function market segment projected to grow by 13 per cent annual between now and 2006 according to market research firm Gartner Dataquest. The overall performance of the DocuColor 3535 and capability to print on heavy paper stocks makes it a strong option for graphic arts firms, in-plant print shops, small quick printers and others. It results in exceptional image quality, high reliability and lower operating costs. The DocuColor 3535, which prints and copies up to 35 color or monochrome pages per minute, is the fastest product to incorporate this advanced marking technology. Creo will supply a Spire color servers to drive the Xerox DocuColor 3535. Creo is a strategic partner of Xerox and its equipment drives digital production presses, delivering market-leading efficiency, flexibility, speed, quality and variable information (VI) capabilities. Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) will showcase its award-winning MatchPrint Virtual Proofing System. The MatchPrint Virtual Proofing System consists of high-end, customized cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors, proprietary color management technologies and a suite of web-based image viewing and collaboration tools from RealTime Image. Designed to provide the convenience and ease of use that graphics arts professionals have come to expect from digital technology, MatchPrint Virtual Proofing System uses an application service provider (ASP) model that allows users to access files through their standard web browser. Proofs can be viewed and managed entirely online, including the ability to make annotations and mark-ups similar to hard-copy proofs. Industry experts have touted proofing as an area where new technologies can help printers cut costs, reduce turn-around times and eliminate the need for hard-copy proofs shipped via couriers from printers to clients. KPG’s MatchPrint Virtual Proofing System does all that. It will be on display for printers to check out throughout the entire Northeast Graphics show. Printable Technologies is a preferred vendor of HP Indigio and a leading provider of online technology to print suppliers. Printable’s array of software products enables print manufacturers to offer online ordering, tracking and output of variable data, on-demand, and inventory print systems by end users from catalogs and job submission centers that are set up, controlled and maintained through existing prepress and production staff. Printable will demonstrate numerous products including PrintFusion3 online variable data printing through flexible and scalable PrintOne Customer Centers. PrintFusion3 allows users to create multi-page, multi-record, press-ready artwork from database file, data streams, form input and more. C.P. Bourg, a manufacturer of print finishing materials and equipment for more than 40 years, will provide an array of equipment to demonstrate its range of finishing and binding equipment. Equipment that may be exhibited at C.P. Bourg’s booth include the fully automated, touch-screen controlled Bourg Tower Collator which can change sizes in less than a minute; the BB 3100 Perfect Binder that produces 500 cycles per hour and has a fast and easy set up; and the Bourg Modulen Collator which includes a high capacity loading station, productivity ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 sets per hour or even 6,000 sets per hour for smaller jobs. Pasquariello Graphics Inc., an Attleboro, Mass.-based regional distributor of finishing equipment from MBO, Colter & Peterson, Saber, Prism, Knorr, Moll Group, Baum, Theisen & Bonitz, and Interthor, will have a full line-up of cutters, folders and gluers and other binding and finishing equipment, parts and accessories on display. “Our exhibit floor now has a solid mix of practical products and equipment that printers and other graphic communications professionals use everyday,” said Trade Show Manager Joe Venti. “With our latest batch of vendors to join in, we now have added new and emerging technologies that will show attendees how digital technology, when applied to printing and reproduction, online procurement, and remote on-monitor proofing can help cut costs, help printers bring more value to their clients and help drive up profits in the long run.” Other vendors who will exhibit at Northeast Graphics include Arthur Blank & Co., Brown Packaging, Inc., Business Card Express, DeBourke Company, E&R Cleaners, Graphic Imaginations, HP DesignJet Printers, HP Indigo, Hurst Chemical Company, Island Clean Air, J.L.
