Land of Smiles Gives KBA Cause for Cheer

Press release from the issuing company

Koenig & Bauer AG (KBA) was one of some 200 exhibitors from 20 countries at the third Pack Print International, which took place from 31 August to 3 September at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC). Organised jointly by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, The Thai Packaging Association and The Thai Printing Association, the event drew over 17,000 visitors keen to come up to speed with the latest products, innovations and technologies.

In recent years Asia has become a major market for the German engineering industry. While China predominates, smaller countries like Thailand have also gained in significance, and press technology has long since attained Western standards. Just a few months ago a number of prominent thai packaging printers fired up seven-unit coater versions of KBA's Rapida 105 - a popular model in the Far East - along with some large-format Rapidas. At Pack Print International KBA Asia-Pacific and KBA's Thai agency, Intergraphics, unveiled new advances in medium and large formats that were of keen interest to both commercial and packaging printers.

Now the world's second-largest press manufacturer, KBA boasts a network of web and sheetfed sales and service outlets throughout the region and is often the vendor of choice for medium- and large-format packaging printers. Several new projects were initiated at the fair.
