FedEx Receives Award for Advancements in Cloud Printing

Press release from the issuing company

  • InformationWeek 500 Recognizes FedEx with "Most Innovative Products" Award
  • Company Ranks 13 for FedEx Office Technology Innovations

MEMPHIS, Tenn., - FedEx Corp. today announced that it was recognized with the "Most Innovative New Tech-Enabled Product" award by InformationWeek for new services at FedEx Office. FedEx Office Print & Go and the enhanced FedEx Office Print Online technologies provide convenient access to on-demand printing. The company ranked 13th on this year's InformationWeek 500-a list of the top U.S. technology innovators. The annual list was revealed last week at the exclusive InformationWeek 500 Conference Gala Awards ceremony in Southern California.

InformationWeek cited FedEx's commitment to quality and a positive customer experience. FedEx has made the list every year since 1995.

"Being named in the top five percent of the Information Week 500 is a tremendous distinction because it recognizes the best in innovation, which is a core value at FedEx," said Rob Carter, CIO and executive vice president of Information Services at FedEx Corp.  "We have long been known for our innovations in transportation, but this honor recognizes how we are using technology to transform printing solutions, too."

With these two industry-leading solutions, FedEx Office has established itself as the first national print retailer to provide both smartphone and cloud printing.  Launched in January 2011, FedEx Office Print & Go allows customers to access and print documents directly from mobile devices and USB flash drives at retail locations nationwide.  The next generation of FedEx Office Print Online, which was introduced in 2007, is an advanced and intuitive print management application that has dynamic previewing, archiving, reordering and tracking features as well as the ability to retrieve files from Google Docs.

For a limited time, customers can try FedEx Office Print Online and save with the Look Good on Paper Print Sale.  Customers will receive up to 40 percent off select print products including postcards, brochures and posters highlighted in the sale, which runs through October 14.  The offer is also valid for orders placed in-store. InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America's best-known companies.  The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
