Press release from the issuing company

Reston, VA–PRIMIR, the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization, recently announced the lineup for its Winter Meeting, slated for December 5-7, 2011 at the Renaissance Charleston Historic District Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina.  Dr. Joseph Webb, Director, WhatTheyThink Economics & Research Center, will keynote the meeting in a session on "Media, Print and the Economy."

The program will also feature several sessions related to key findings from the soon-to-be-released PRIMIR research study "Electronic Technologies Impact on Print."  From this new PRIMIR study that will be unveiled later this fall, Marco Boer, Vice President, IT Strategies, will reveal the findings focused on opportunities and threats to print from the various electronic technology offerings-some of which are not yet publicly available.  Following Mr. Boer's presentation, a panel discussion will feature a printer, a publisher and an agency representative, who will discuss the study findings and their experiences.  PRIMIR members will also examine the findings and discuss how they can address the changes and challenges attributed to the adoption of these various electronic technologies.

In other presentations, John Conley, VP Marketing GCBG, Xerox Corporation will provide insights into "Book Market Trends," and Lisa Cross, Consultant at InfoTrends will discuss the "Evolution of the Cross-Media Provider."  The meeting will conclude on Wednesday morning with a tutorial entitled "Emerging Printing Technologies Overview" by John Jay Jacobs, Lecturer, Department of Graphic Communications at Clemson University.  Jay is an expert in the field of new alternative and emerging printing technologies.

PRIMIR 2011 Winter Meeting attendees will also participate in various task forces focused on research to be completed in 2012 and beyond.

PRIMIR hosts three meetings each year, providing a forum for members to network among their peers while learning the results of the latest research produced for PRIMIR.  PRIMIR and NPES members, as well as prospective members, are welcome to attend the 2011 Winter Meeting.  Business development managers, product managers, market research analysts and others who are tasked with following and formulating data and trends about the graphic communications industry will find PRIMIR meetings beneficial.  Complete program and registration details are available at: www.primir.org.
