Konica Minolta Teams Up with Industry Experts at GRAPH EXPO

Ramsey, N.J. - Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced a Speaker Series in the Konica Minolta Booth #2227 at GRAPH EXPO 2011 from September 11-13 at McCormick Place South in Chicago.  Industry experts from HutchColor, Institute for Sustainable Communication and Printing Industries of America will discuss current digital press research, industry trends, as well as sustainable printing practices.

The Konica Minolta Speaker Series will consist of day-long engagements to offer attendees a chance to see each presentation during their stay at GRAPH EXPO.

Don Hutcheson inventor of the IDEAlliance G7 method will discuss the benefits of becoming a G7 certified in a competitive marketplace and provide background on the current methodology and technologies for certification.  Hutchenson will discuss the recent G7 Expert status and IDEAlliance Digital Press Certification for the Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000.  Hutcheson has over 40 years of experience in pre-press color reproduction and is the inventor of DuPont HyperColor HiFi system.  He has served as chairman IDEAlliance GRACoL committee and his specialties include ICC color management, soft proofing, digital proofing and digital photography.

A heightened sense of awareness about the environment has developed in recent years.  In particular, feelings of guilt and concern are on the rise about the use of paper and its alleged impact on the fate of trees, forests and the environment.  Don Carli will provide a clear-eyed look at organizations' insistence that we choose between print and digital media.  Carli is President and Founder of the consulting firm Nima Hunter Inc. and Senior Research Fellow with the nonprofit Institute for Sustainable Communication (ISC) where he is responsible for programs addressing corporate responsibility, sustainability, advertising, marketing and enterprise media supply chains.  Carli is a member of the board of advisors of the AIGA Center for Sustainable Design, a member of the Institute for Supply Management and recipient of the P3 Foundation "Luminaire Award" recognizing outstanding achievement and dedication by graphic communication industry innovators.

Mark Bohan will discuss the Printing Industries of America current research related to digital presses as well its testing and use of Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C70hc and bizhub PRESS C8000 for a direct mail sent through the United States Postal Service.  Bohan is responsible for the Printing Industries of America technical research, graphic services, and environmental, health, and safety.  He is also responsible for the development of the JDF product certification program for CIP4 where he is on the Advisory Board & the technical Steering Committee and is coordinating the implementation of JDF-enabled products at Printing Industries of America.
