Friday, October 10, 2003

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, Oct. 9 -- RR Donnelley today announced the promotion of Lucie Naphin to vice president of government relations. Naphin will be responsible for RR Donnelley's government relations activities to ensure the company's interests are clearly represented with decision makers at the federal, state and local level. She will focus on a wide range of issues, including legislation that impacts our industry and our customers. This promotion is effectively immediately. "As a leader in the print industry, we are relentless at finding a better way to help our customers sell more and save more," said Joseph C. Lawler, executive vice president for RR Donnelley. "Through Lucie's efforts, RR Donnelley has been able to make a tremendous impact on issues that are important to our customers, especially postal reform. I'm confident in Lucie's ability to continue fostering those relationships." Since joining RR Donnelley in 2001 as director of government relations, Naphin has been an integral player in building relationships with government officials. Prior to RR Donnelley, Naphin held positions at the U.S. Department of Commerce as director of the Office of Business Liaison and director of external affairs. Before that, she served at the White House as special assistant to the President and deputy director of scheduling.
