Enovation Brings Together Fujifilm, ICS to Offer Integrated Remote Proofing Solution

Press release from the issuing company

HANOVER PARK, Ill., Oct. 6, 2003 – For companies looking for a complete remote proofing system, the wait is finally over. Enovation Graphic Systems, Inc., the premiere distributor to the graphic communications industry, announced today the partnership of Fujifilm and Integrated Color Solutions (ICS), bringing users a unique, award-winning solution for color-accurate soft and hard remote proofing. By bringing these two companies together, Enovation will offer the first complete, color-accurate remote proofing solution by combining Fujifilm’s new PictroProof II digital color proofer with ICS’s Remote Director display-based proofing system, enabling customers to work collaboratively, review and complete projects quickly and without consideration for geographical borders. “This is an amazing partnership because it combines hard and soft remote proofing in one integrated solution to address the range of client requirements while speeding the workflow by eliminating the need for overnight deliveries and couriers,” says Eric Neumann, product manager for PictroProof II with Enovation Graphic Systems, Inc. “The Remote Director system’s unique verification process assures users that each remote monitor and PictroProof II device is properly calibrated and profiled for each job, giving them the confidence and flexibility to view the same color-accurate proofs on screen and on paper.” ICS’s Remote Director is the first SWOP-certified, display-based contract proofing system that applies advanced color management and software technologies to ensure color-accurate proofs. It allows multiple users to view the same artwork, add comments and collaborate about color as well as content and build a complete digital record of the entire job from start to finish. Reviewers can collaborate in real-time or work at their own convenience, allowing photographers, agencies, clients, prepress shops and printers to all communicate more rapidly and effectively while viewing color with certainty. Fujifilm’s new PictroProof II digital contone proofer now offers a built-in calibrator as well as an optional network adapter that allows users to connect to a network via an Ethernet connection. PictroProof II continues to offer reliable, high-quality proofs with minimal maintenance and still boasts the same consistency and quick print time – only 93 seconds per proof – as its predecessor. The PictroProof II is also easy to use and requires no chemistry. “We’re excited to be partnering with Enovation to provide flexible proofing solutions that simplify and streamline the prepress workflow,” says Peyton Kay, vice president of sales and marketing for ICS. “This partnership demonstrates Remote Director’s versatility to be combined with the PictroProof II and provides Enovation’s clients the first completely integrated remote proofing solution.” Both Remote Director and PictroProof II are SWOP-certified and allow use of industry-standard ICC profiles. In addition, for Remote Director, ICS received the 2003 GATF InterTech Technology Award for innovative excellence, and it was honored with a Must See ’ems! award at Graph Expo 2003 in Chicago. “Remote Director and PictroProof II together form the only system available today that can offer customers a complete, color-accurate remote proofing solution to speed up their prepress production cycle,” comments John Meyer, Enovation’s director of product management. “Enovation is proud to be the sole distributor of this integrated solution and we hope this is just the first of many proofing advances to be offered from the experts at Enovation.”
