Creo Opens Veris Proofer Connectivity

Press release from the issuing company

Drupa Preview, Buren, The Netherlands (February 20, 2004) – Creo Inc. is field testing a new version of the innovative Veris proofer with the ability to process third-party PDF and PostScript files. This new version includes a RIP and provides complete ICC workflow support including spot color handling. An extensive set of file formats can be submitted via the new multiple hot folders mechanism and the virtual printer functionality that is integrated into this new version of Veris. The newly supported file formats include PostScript Level 1, 2, 3; PDF 1.2 – 1.4, x-1.a; DCS Level 1-2; and EPS. The new Veris version also includes features available in the original version of the Veris, such as queue management, image preview mode, and image layout and manipulation. The Veris proofer is a breakthrough in proofing technology, providing premium-quality proofs that set a new standard for inkjet proofing quality. Based on the Creo developed Multi-Drop Array inkjet imaging, the Veris proofer produces high quality, repeatable proofs that accurately predict the final printed job. The Creo Certified Process automatically verifies that the proofer’s calibration is correct and recent, that the correct color profile is used, and that the specified ink and media are loaded, to provide customer with a visual assurance of the integrity of the Veris proofing process. For more information on acquiring the Veris proofer, contact a Creo sales representative. Creo will demonstrate its proofing solutions including the new Veris version, Integris, and remote proofing solutions at Drupa 2004 on the Creo stand B10, Hall 4, from May 6-19, 2004.
