Page/International Communications Installs Six-Color Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL, - Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Page/International Communications has replaced two of its Heidelberg presses with a fully automated six-color, Komori Lithrone S40 with coater (LS640c). A division of Nationwide Graphics, Houston-based commercial printer Page/International offers state-of-the-art offset and digital printing capabilities as well as mailing, finishing and fulfillment to its diverse client base. Page/International reports that the advanced automation of the LS640c is making it possible to cut its makereadies by two-thirds and significantly increase run speeds, dramatically increasing the company's overall productivity.

"Makereadies were averaging about an hour and a half and now we are completing them in under 30 minutes," said Butch Lee, plant manager at Page/International. "The run speed of the press is significantly higher as well. Overall the automation of the Komori press has increased the productivity of our press room and made room for taking in more business."

The majority of Page/International's customers have come to expect aqueous coating and the in-line coater on the LS640c gives the company the capacity to deliver. The LS640c makes it possible to meet its clients' diverse printing needs due to the advanced automation in digital workflow capabilities and ink fountain presets. Additionally, Page/International is benefitting from minimal paper waste and greater speed to market.

"We are very pleased that the Lithrone S640c is adding value in both productivity and efficiency at Page/International," said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Komori America. "It's always gratifying to be able to support a printer devoted to its customers with the Lithrone's ability to provide the highest caliber of print quality and efficiency the market has to offer."
