Aleyant Systems and PrintPoint Announce Bi-Directional Integration

Press release from the issuing company

Unique implementation streamlines data flow between web-to-print and print MIS

Wheaton, IL – Aleyant Systems, an innovative leader in providing robust software services to the graphic communications industry at value-driven prices, and PrintPoint, a provider of print MIS solutions for the graphic arts industry, today announced a unique integration between Aleyant's Pressero web-to-print solution and PrintPoint 6, a print shop estimating and management solution. This bi-directional integration eliminates rekeying of data for jobs received via the web, allowing Pressero to tap PrintPoint for core business data, including customer information, approval processes, pricing, job status and more.

The Pressero/PrintPoint integration will be demonstrated at Graph Expo 2011, scheduled for September 11-14 at McCormick Place in Chicago.  Visit Aleyant Systems in Booth 355 or PrintPoint in Booth 238.

"The integration between Pressero and PrintPoint offers unique benefits to the graphic arts market," said Greg Salzman, Aleyant's President. "Most print MIS/web-to-print integrations result in the customer-facing web-to-print solution having only a subset of data for jobs resident in the web-to-print storefront with the full information being resident in the print MIS. This can require error-prone and time-consuming rekeying of information between the two systems. With the current integration, PrintPoint becomes a single point of administration and data entry for both systems, streamlining operations."

A print MIS solution when properly implemented contains a wide range of business and production information, including costing, estimating, customer information, production status and more. When a customer-facing web-to-print solution is added to the configuration, pricing tables and other information are often duplicated within the customer-facing web solution, with each system needing a separate update as factors change. In the Aleyant/PrintPoint integration, Pressero, a cloud-based application, actually becomes a module of PrintPoint, having native access to the data hosted within PrintPoint. If a pricing change occurs, it is automatically and immediately fed by PrintPoint to Pressero, ensuring that all pricing is current and accurate. In addition, data collected from the shop floor will display full job status information to operators within the plant, passing appropriate data to Pressero to provide customer-facing status information.

"Pressero's open API approach was a real benefit in allowing us to accomplish this seamless integration," said Morrie Brown, CEO of PrintPoint. "PrintPoint customers can also now offer their customers the capabilities delivered by Aleyant's eDocBuilder to easily create template solutions and variable data applications, opening the door for new revenue streams and new customer acquisition."

Pressero web-to-print is available immediately to users of PrintPoint 6. For more information, including pricing and implementation, visit www.printpoint.com or call 800.774.6853.
