Press release from the issuing company

DUSSELDORF, Germany - January 29, 2004 - EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, will highlight real world, JDF-integrated applications and technologies at drupa in May (hall 4, stands B34 & B40). EFI is committed to open JDF standards throughout its product line and in its partnerships with companies like Screen USA and Heidelberg. JDF is the open standard job ticketing language enabling interoperability across the printing process. "The 'JDF drupa,' as many are calling it, will be a great opportunity for EFI and our partners to show the productivity and cost-effectiveness of solutions that embrace open standards and interoperability," said Guy Gecht, EFI CEO. "From customer-facing and Internet solutions, prepress workflow solutions, management information applications, and, finally to offset and digital production presses, EFI is 100% committed to making the advantages of JDF interconnectivity a reality for our customers." Some of the exciting new solutions from EFI that will showcase JDF connectivity at drupa include: - Press Connector module for EFI print management systems (MIS) with JDF connectivity to Heidelberg, Komori and MAN Roland presses. - Prepress Connector that provides JDF integration between EFI print management systems and prepress workflow solutions. - JDF workflow support for digital presses in EFI's OneFlow(tm), Balance(tm) and Fiery products. - Internet solutions, including Digital StoreFront, PrintSmith Site and EFI Exchange(tm), featuring JDF integration into print management systems and workflow solutions. EFI will also be an active participant in the CIP4 JDF booth at drupa. EFI will showcase open JDF connectivity across multi-vendor workflows including EFI Hagen OA, OneFlow, and Balance. EFI is a partner member of CIP4, the standards organization behind the JDF initiative, and has participated in every CIP4 JDF interoperability test forum. EFI is committed to open standards connectivity. JDF is an open standard, job ticketing language that provides the foundation for customers to build next-generation printing environments that encompass both the content and the business aspects of production workflow. EFI's JDF activities at drupa are aimed at helping printers understand how they can apply JDF today, and how EFI's best-of-class products incorporating JDF support will help printers streamline their operations, increase their profitability and attract new business through value added services.
