Press release from the issuing company

Gretzenbach, Switzerland, – Lüscher is exhibiting innovative CTP solutions for label printing at Labelexpo in Brussels from the 28th of September to the 1st October 2011, in Hall 7, Stand M50.

In focus at this year's Lüscher stand with over 112 m2 are the versatile hybrid platesetters Multi DX and XPose! Flex. The innovative hybrid technology makes possible the print plate manufacturing for flexo-graphy, offset, letterpress and rotary screen printing processes in one single platesetter – an ideal solution for label printing! Visitors can also inform themselves about the new direct exposure of letterpress print plates process without an ablation layer as well as special solutions for coating plate production.

Increased flexibility and improved print quality creating new possibilities
Multi DX and XPose! Flex exposes flexography, offset and letterpress print plates as well as all traditional flexible rotary screen print plates. Multi DX can additionally expose all rigid rotary screen print plates and plates with photoresist designed for hot foil, embossing and die cutting applications. This adds flexibility and cost-effectiveness for the customer. A resolution up to 10,000 dpi guarantees an excellent print quality. With the new "Continuous Calibration Technology" the printer receive a standardised printing plate and thus a high level of process stability. The modular set-up moreover permits optimum adaptation to customer specifications.

The Multi DX flatbed platesetter has versatile uses in packaging and job printing as well as industrial printing. Practical examples are labels, tins, cartons, foils, ceramics, toys, sports items, display elements, PC boards or solar cells.

XPose! Flex has uses in packaging printing with a variety of packaging applications, such as labels, cans, cardboard boxes or foils. It is suitable on one hand for integrating safety features in the pharmaceutical and consumer goods branch and on the other hand in security printing, such as in manufacturing banknotes, identity and credit cards.

New direct X!Direct exposure increases competitivenes
For the first time Lüscher is presenting the direct exposure of letterpress print plates. With the revolutionary X!Direct software Lüscher has created an efficient solution for labels and packing printing. Compared with traditional laser ablation mask systems (LAM system) the rapid and environmentally friendly work approach of the Lüscher CTP systems optimises production. This process accelerates workflows leading to printing and achieves extremely precise image rendition.

"High productivity, economic production and excellent print quality are prerequisites in order to be able to successful survive in he graphics industry in the long term," says Zdenek Mazura, Director of Product Management & Marketing. "The CTP systems at our stand offer new ideas and solutions on all of these aspects. We look forward to presenting our innovations for the label and packaging market as well as many visitors."
