Bell and Howell Announces Support of USPS Mobile Barcode Promotion

Press release from the issuing company

Wheeling, Ill., - Bell and Howell (BH) today announced that it will completely support the USPS QR Mobile Barcode Promotion on its NetSort enabled sorters. The QR Barcode incentive program was finalized by the USPS on May 17, 2011. The dates for this promotion are July 1 through August 31, 2011.

The promotion offers a three percent postage discount on First-Class Mail and Standard Mail, commercial letters, and flats that contain a mobile barcode either on the inside or outside of the mailpiece at time of mailing. The discount is in addition to the Full Service Intelligent Mail barcode discounts.

"Because of our advanced software planning and development in Mail.dat 11.1, we were able to quickly make this opportunity available to our customers," said Hank Martin, BH vice president of Postal Software Marketing. "Additional changes were added to support the MLOCR co-mingling specific requirements."

The software updates will be available for all BH NetSort users in time to begin receiving the discount on July 1.
