Mercury Print & Mail Acquires New England Printing & Graphics

Press release from the issuing company

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--Jan. 26, 2004--Mercury Print & Mail announced its acquisition of New England Printing & Graphics Inc. of Lincoln, RI today. When the sale of this privately owned company is completed, Mercury Print & Mail will quadruple its printing capabilities, transforming it into one of the largest printing and mailing companies in the Northeast. The printing division of Mercury Print & Mail will be known as New England Printing & Graphics after the completion of the sale at the end of January. New England Printing & Graphics has received numerous awards of excellence from the Providence Graphic Arts Association and Printing Industries of America. The company was originally founded in 1895 in Woonsocket. After more than 100 years at that site, New England Printing & Graphics was moved to Lincoln. Current owner and CEO Peter Previdi purchased the company in 1975; he will remain with the combined organization and will serve as president of New England Printing & Graphics and vice president of Mercury Print & Mail. Offers of employment will be extended to the majority of New England Printing & Graphics' 32 employees to join the new organization that will be headquartered in Pawtucket. "With the recent economic downturn, printing companies have faced many challenges. By joining forces with Mercury Print & Mail, however, we're complementing the existing services and technology that we can offer and ensuring greater business longevity for the combined organization," said Previdi. "It's great to be invited to join this championship team." "Customer service is our competitive difference," added Mercury Print & Mail President and CEO Steve Cronin. "With the decades of experience and technology that New England Printing & Graphics has to offer, we'll be adding value for our clients because we'll become a one-stop shop for all printing and mailing needs." Mercury Print & Mail has offices in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and Attleboro, Massachusetts. Founded in 1956, the company is dedicated to providing high-quality printed materials, guiding them through complex postal regulations and delivering them to targeted customers in a timely, cost-effective manner. Satisfied customers include Rhode Island-based organizations like Bank of Newport, RI Hospital, The BIG EAST Conference and the U.S. Sailing Association, along with national companies like Honeywell and Goya Foods.
