Adobe Integrates Functions of Callas Software into new Version of Acrobat

Berlin, - The new version of Adobe Acrobat 10.1 is well prepared for the official release of PDF/A-2; thanks to the contribution of callas software GmbH, who developed the Preflight tool. Users can already check their documents for Acrobat PDF/A compliance with Acrobat X. In the update some final modifications to the standard which is now pubsliched were integrated. Therefore, this free update is recommended for all Adobe-X user using PDF/A.

Since 1997, callas software provides technology for validation and correction of PDF files to Adobe. The Berlin-based software house is the developer of the Preflight module that since version 8 of Acrobat allows for converting and checking of PDF/A-1. The software is also internally used for example when a regular PDF is saved as PDF/A.

With PDF/A-2 a new standard is ready for use. It is based on the PDF format version 1.7 and compared to PDF/A-1 it includes several new features. Acrobat 10 users can already check their files on PDF/A-2-conformity. In version 10.1, these features are brought up to date according to the final version of the recently published standard text.
