Gannett Names Joyce Jenereaux President of Detroit Media Partnership

MCLEAN, Va., – Gannett announced today Joyce Jenereaux was named president of Detroit Media Partnership, the top executive position. Detroit Media Partnership manages all business functions for The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.

She most recently served as executive vice president of Detroit Media Partnership and succeeds Susie Ellwood, who recently was named executive vice president and general manager at USA TODAY.

"Joyce is an exceptional leader who played a significant role in the industry-leading changes we made in the Detroit market. She has great instincts and the courage to pursue new directions that have resulted in building better products for our customers," said David Hunke, president and publisher of USA TODAY. Detroit Media Partnership reports directly to Gannett's USA TODAY and Hunke was formerly CEO at Detroit.

Jenereaux, 57, joined Detroit Media Partnership in 1990 as a financial analyst. She has held various positions of increasing responsibility including financial reporting manager, assistant controller, controller, vice president and senior vice president of finance.

She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University where she earned a bachelor's degree in business administration. She earned her CPA designation while a senior auditor at Deloitte & Touche. Jenereaux is active in the metro Detroit community, serving as a board member of Forgotten Harvest. She is also a three-time Gannett President's Ring winner.
