Pitney Bowes Opens New Mail Presort Facility

Press release from the issuing company

STAMFORD, Conn., – Pitney Bowes Inc. today announced it is opening a new mail presorting facility in Grand Prairie, Texas. The new site replaces the Company's former facility nearby that was destroyed in a February fire that started at an adjoining business.  Despite the disaster, Pitney Bowes made all requested customer pickups and began processing customer mail at other locations within 24 hours of the fire.

Located at 1101 Post and Paddock Street, Grand Prairie, Texas, the new Pitney Bowes facility will presort more than 1.6 billion pieces of First-Class letter mail per year.  The 161,000 square-foot-center will employ approximately 400 people.

"We are grateful for the outpouring of support we've received during the past few months from the local business community, our customers, the U.S. Postal Service, vendors and our mailing industry colleagues," said Jay Oxton, president, mail services, Pitney Bowes.  "We are thrilled to be opening the doors to our new Grand Prairie facility.  We look forward to continuing to work with mailers to offer innovative solutions that can help increase postage discount opportunities, mailing efficiencies and delivery optimization via our nationwide presort network."

As the nation's leading mail presorter, Pitney Bowes enables customers to receive significant postage discounts on First-Class letters and flats, and Standard Mail. Pitney Bowes currently handles 14 billion pieces of mail per year through its 36 facilities across the United States.
