First KODAK VERSAMARK Systems installed in Mexico

Press release from the issuing company

ROCHESTER, N.Y., -Kodak today announced the installation of two VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing Systems at Gráficas Corona; the color inkjet systems are the first of their kind to be installed in Mexico.

The KODAK VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System targets data centers with volumes of more than 1 million images per month of transactional, promotional and TransPromo documents, such as billing, account statements and direct mail. It operates at maximum production capacity of 1,090 A4 (letter sized) impressions per minute.

"The Mexican direct mail market is growing, especially in black and white printing," said Carlos Bravo, Digital Printing Business Manager North Cone, Kodak Graphic Communications Group. "Although the adoption of color and targeted marketing is still in its early stages in this region, there is a pent up demand for better options to more effectively communicate with customers. The capabilities and economics of inkjet are starting to change the dynamics in the market and we're seeing some of our more progressive customers creating extremely impactful communications."

Gráficas Corona is one of the most visionary and leading authorities in Mexico in digital and fulfillment. The company creates a large portion of all of the direct mail for the leading banks in Mexico. The installation of the VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System at Graficas Corona enabled BBVA, the largest bank in Mexico, to transform its statements and generate more relevant and targeted communications to its customers. The VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System features the productivity and cost-effective printing necessary to make color statement printing a reality.

"Kodak was the first to open the inkjet conversation with us and has been a great partner in helping us to identify opportunities and integrate systems into our operation," said Juan Estrada, Gráficas Corona. "With their help, we are educating our customers about the technology and showing them how inkjet printing can really make a positive impact on their businesses. Kodak truly is committed to the success of our business."

The VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System employs drop-on-demand print technology with image resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, and eliminates the redundant process of printing full color shells for transactional statements and bills, helping reduce costs and production time.

The VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing System provides a cost effective solution for data center printers that serve their customers with short runs of high quality documents, as well as long run transaction and promotional materials. Low operational costs make this system particularly economical for applications like multipage financial statements, credit card bills and telecommunications invoices.
