Printware Helps Printers of All Sizes Maintain Profits and Reduce Costs

Press release from the issuing company

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – Printware, the leading independent manufacturer of high quality, high performance and innovative polyester CtP solutions, announced it has recently installed PlateStream polyester CtP systems at Allegra Print & Imaging of Brooklyn Park, MN; The Artcraft Co., North Attleboro, MA; Bogus Printing, Inc., Sebring, FL; and Sir Speedy of Olathe, KS.

Allegra Print & Imaging upgraded from an older DPM platesetter. The Artcraft Co. replaced two older QuickSetters with RIPit RIPs. Bogus Printing upgraded from a toner-based platesetter. Sir Speedy also upgraded from an older RIPit system.

Platestream CtP systems meet daily production demands with:

  • Affordable, quick payback, complete systems
  • Flexible portrait or landscape formats (10" to 18.1" width range)
  • Accurate press-ready punched plates with a standard integrated or offline punch
  • 60-120 press-ready plates per hour to meet peak production requirements
  • +/- 0.001" registration accuracy across four consecutive plates for the most demanding process color work
  • Minimal waste with Printware's exclusive long rolls of SilverStream Color+ plate material
  • Workflow and job management options to meet the demands of even the busiest prepress departments

Bogus Printing owner Paul Bogus stated, "Our pressman was out last week and I had to run a very close register job with the new plates.  It was so easy it almost makes me want to start running a press again – not!" Bogus continues by stating "We are able to run different jobs than we ever could before with the PlateStream CtP system."
"The PlateStream CtP system more than exceeded our expectation for productivity and profitability," stated Greg Oswald, owner of Sir Speedy. Jay Low of Allegra Print & Imaging stated, "The PlateStream system will pay for itself in a couple of years with less maintenance and the lower plate cost."

"CtP still remains a printer's best economic investment, especially in these challenging economic conditions." commented Tim Murphy, President of Printware. "The PlateStream systems and especially our latest PlateStream Elite supports our customers' needs with a low cost, quick payback solution designed to improve profitability and meet the ever changing press room requirements. The fact that the system is built on a proven platform with a small footprint and can be configured to the customer's press needs, including the newest landscape color presses, makes this an easy upgrade or a great replacement for an older unsupported polyester CtP device."

PlateStream Elite polyester CtP systems surpass customer expectations for cost effectiveness, flexibility and versatility. Offering a portrait or landscape format digital platesetter with fully integrated features, the PlateStream Elite system allows printers to better compete by containing costs in their operations.

The PlateStream Elite family of polyester CtP systems is based on a common design derived from Printware's nearly thirty years of manufacturing expertise. The PlateStream Elite family provides best-in-class capabilities required by today's production demands including:

  • Portrait 13.3" systems under $24,995
