ACS, A Xerox Company, Expands My Medicare Advocate Network

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Press release from the issuing company

DALLAS, Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company, today announced the expansion of the My Medicare Advocate network following the participation of national health benefits companies, Humana Inc. and WellPoint, Inc.

My Medicare Advocate helps retirees select the most appropriate Medicare coverage for their individual needs by combining call center representatives, a Web portal with user-friendly decision tools, and a range of written communication materials, including brochures and enrollment guides. It is a complete package of services, which frees employers from handling complex retiree medical enrollment and administration issues.

As the anchor companies for My Medicare Advocate, Humana and WellPoint affiliated health plans provide their group and individual Medicare insurance products to participants in the network. With more than 20 additional carriers, their plans provide retirees in all 50 states and Puerto Rico with access to lists of their Medicare plans.

"Humana and WellPoint affiliated health plans are leaders in providing Medicare insurance programs, which means retirees and their families can choose from premier plans that provide the most meaningful benefits," said Jeff Clay, chief operating officer of My Medicare Advocate at ACS.

ACS also announced it is teaming up with DestinationRx, Inc. to provide Medicare plan comparison and enrollment tools, and Connextions Inc. to offer retiree medical call center services for My Medicare Advocate.  DestinationRx and Connextions seamlessly work together in support of My Medicare Advocate, providing call center employees with immediate access to retirees' information.

DestinationRx has helped more than 9 million beneficiaries learn about, compare among, and enroll in Medicare plans. Its technology powers the Medicare.gov website, toll-free Medicare call center, and leading Medicare insurance plans.

Connextions has a decade of experience in direct-to-consumer health insurance. For My Medicare Advocate, Connextions has deployed highly trained and experienced call center agents to support retirees. Connextions assigns licensed agents to specific retiree groups; these agents also make proactive calls to ensure user satisfaction.
