Quark Sponsors Digital Magazine Awards

Press release from the issuing company

London, UK – Quark announced today its sponsorship of the Digital Magazine Awards 2011, an international accolade showcasing the best magazines, standout advertisements, and most influential people from the digital publishing industry. Last year's winners include Sky Magazine Live, Vodafone CLEAR, and KLM iFly Magazine with participants from all over the world.

Quark recently launched QuarkXPress 9, the latest major version of the page-layout and graphic design software that puts designers in control of publishing to print, Web, interactive Flash (SWF), and now digital media including digital magazines. With QuarkXPress 9, designers and creative professionals have a variety of options for publishing to digital devices, such as devices pre-installed with the Blio eReader; including millions of Windows computers from Toshiba, HP, and Dell, and soon, devices that run the iOS, Android, and Silverlight platforms.

Designers can also easily convert QuarkXPress print files into reflowable e-books using the ePUB format to publish to Apple's iBooks, the Barnes & Noble NOOK, Sony Reader, Amazon Kindle and more. Additionally, QuarkXPress 9 will soon include App Studio (available as a free update to all QuarkXPress 9 users within 90 days). With App Studio for QuarkXPress, designers will have a dedicated design environment within QuarkXPress 9 for creating content for the iPad.
