BURLINGTON, Mass., - Nuance Communications, a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced that Nuance eCopy ShareScan and eCopy PDF Pro Office will be distributed by HP through a global agreement reached between the two companies. HP has also named Nuance an HP Platinum Partner, the highest level of its HP Solutions Business Partner program. Nuance offers enterprise customers a market-leading solution for digitizing document workflows, enabling employees to process paper documents easily and securely.

eCopy ShareScan enables powerful document workflows from HP multifunction printers (MFPs) and worker desktops, supporting forms and document processing to over 100 back-end and enterprise applications including HP TRIM, Microsoft SharePoint, Hyland OnBase and others. Under the agreement, Nuance will provide eCopy solutions to HP global enterprise customers. The two companies will cooperate on sales support and services worldwide. Additionally, Nuance has released an embedded version of eCopy ShareScan v5.0 for the latest version of HP Open Extensibility Platform (OXP) supported by HP MFPs.

Nuance will also provide HP customers with eCopy PDF Pro Office, which connects the user desktop with network MFP scanning, and provides everything needed to create, edit and convert PDF files. eCopy PDF Pro Office includes a unique eCopy Inbox that simplifies scan-to-desktop from network and local scanners, and provides direct desktop connectivity to content management applications such as Autonomy Interwoven and Microsoft SharePoint.

Today's announcement expands on a decade-long HP-Nuance distribution and custom development relationship that includes HP bundling of Nuance OmniPage and PaperPort with various HP devices, and the development of HP Smart Document Scan Software by Nuance using the OmniPage SDK.

eCopy ShareScan provides unlimited forms processing capabilities as a standard feature, giving organizations the ability to extract data from paper forms directly from the MFP. The software also includes unlimited document conversion capabilities, providing the highest level of accuracy in turning paper into fully formatted Microsoft Word and Excel documents, as well as searchable PDF files.

eCopy ShareScan for HP MFP devices is available localized in English, French, Italian, German, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. The eCopy PDF Pro Office desktop application is available in English, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Danish and Dutch.
