Enfocus Software Announces Record Fourth Quarter Sales

Press release from the issuing company

Ghent, Belgium –February 4, 2004 - Enfocus Software, the industry leader in PDF-related software tools, today announces that the company achieved record sales volume during the fourth quarter of 2003 (October to December). With total sales equaling $2,601,149 USD and more than 8.000 software units sold, Enfocus increased sales revenue by 40% compared to the same quarter last year. David van Driessche, Enfocus CEO, said: “By any standard, the last quarter has been our best ever. In addition, the increase has been recorded in a large majority of those countries we have targeted for growth.” The company reports that sales reached new levels in 10 of its 12 most important markets, including the US, UK, Germany, Italy and the Benelux. Enfocus’ product range, including PitStop Professional, PitStop Server, and Instant PDF, are moving more quickly than in the past. In addition, revenue from OEMs and volume license sales are at record highs. “2003 has been a special year for Enfocus, and we’re more than pleased with the results,” van Driessche added. “The release of Adobe’s Acrobat 6 Professional, which included some feature overlap with Enfocus products, may have raised some initial questions as to our ability to sustain growth. But customers continue to recognize the value of our solutions, and their purchasing decisions are the ultimate sign of confidence in our company and products.” “It goes without saying that we are extremely satisfied with these results,” says Guido Van der Schueren, Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board of Enfocus’ parent company, Artwork Systems. “This major increase in sales was achieved while containing costs. This results in profitability that is among the best in our industry. It also confirms the validity of our long-term commitment to keep Enfocus a fully separate entity.” “We also experienced positive organizational change at Enfocus in 2003,” adds van Driessche, who was himself appointed CEO in April. “We’ve expanded our team of talented and dedicated managers, who today work together extremely well to further the growth of Enfocus. We promoted Filiep Maes (Development), Elli Cloots (Support), Tom Peire (Corporate Marketing), Sean Hiss (North American Marketing) and Katrien Van Der Aa (Finance) to Director-level positions. Together with Patrick Van Dam (International Sales), Catherine McCarthy (North American Sales), Vicki Blake (Business Development) and Marc Goldchstein (VP of Marketing), they represent the core talent that drives this company.”
