The Hipage Company Streamlines Supply Chain With Canon and eCopy

Press release from the issuing company

NASHUA, NH and LAKE SUCCESS, NY--Feb 3, 2004 -- eCopy, Inc., an innovative provider of document distribution and integration solutions, today announced that The Hipage Company, Inc., one of the largest privately owned U.S. Brokerage & International Freight Forwarding companies, has adopted the eCopy Suite, coupled with the networked capabilities of Canon's digital copiers, for use among each of the company's 12 office locations. Hipage has implemented the Canon/eCopy solution to help attain a number of business goals: offer better customer service, reduce costs, and create a more efficient document management solution. "The Canon/eCopy solution links automatically to all of our business systems, from e-mail to our shipping system, and enables us to streamline our business process so each of our 250 employees can scan and mail documents to any party all at once without having to make multiple copies and send them out to various locations," said Cheryl Hunley, director of information services for Hipage. "Our customers are thrilled that they are no longer receiving faxes because it cuts down on their costs and, for some, using eCopy is a deal breaker for doing business." Using the eCopy Suite with Canon imageRUNNER copiers, Hipage employees turn color or black and white documents into electronic images that can be easily integrated into the Company's existing workflow and CargoTrac shipping system. Hipage manages the logistics of its shipments by creating and organizing total transportation packages that offer door-to-door international delivery. By deploying the Canon/eCopy solution, Hipage can focus on airtight and hassle-free shipping rather than on managing mounds of shipping documents. "The Canon/eCopy solution enables customers like Hipage to create centralized imaging and storage solutions to satisfy government auditing requirements, security regulations, and more," said Tim Corkery, senior vice president of worldwide sales, eCopy, Inc. "This results in tremendous savings in terms of both storage and labor hours, a difference our clients pass on to their own customers in efficiency, timeliness, reduced costs, and speed."
