Press release from the issuing company

Sandy Hook, Conn. - Curtis Packaging, a leading producer of luxury packaging and a recognized industry leader in sustainability, is pleased to congratulate president and CEO, Don Droppo, Jr., for his selection in Connecticut Magazine’s “40 Under 40.” Droppo was chosen from a group of Connecticut’s most promising young leaders compiled through a competitive nomination process.

“It is an honor to have been selected to stand alongside this inspiring group,” said Droppo. “It is truly gratifying to be recognized for making a positive contribution to the state of Connecticut and I look forward to furthering Curtis Packaging’s long-standing commitment to socially responsible corporate citizenship.”

Because of Droppo’s leadership, Curtis Packaging is “a model for other small-to-midsized manufacturers here in Connecticut and nationally,” said John Rathgeber, president and CEO of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. As a direct result of Droppo’s efforts, Curtis became the first folding-carton manufacturer in North America to use 100 percent renewable electricity, be carbon neutral, and secure certifications from the Forest Stewardship Council and Sustainable Forests Initiative. In addition to his role at Curtis, he is a vice chairman of the board at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association and an active board member of Reforest the Tropics.
