Franklin Event 2011 Award Recipients announced

New York, NY - The Printing Industries Alliance Franklin Event Committee announced today the recipients of its 2011 Power of Communications Awards. For Printing: Michael Graff, President & CEO, Sandy Alexander, Inc., Clifton, NJ; For Publishing: Laura Reid, Vice President, Production, Hearst Magazines, New York, NY; and For Retail Advertising: Rita Little, Vice President, Marketing, Bed Bath & Beyond, Farmingdale, NY.  The award, established in 1971, provides industry recognition to individuals who have demonstrated positive influence and creative excellence in their designated area of graphic communications.

The recipient of the prestigious Franklin Award for Distinguished Service, the industry's highest honor, will be announced shortly.  Open nominations for Zenger Medal candidates will be accepted from all metro-area industry professionals until April 1, with the named recipient announced shortly thereafter. The popular Franklin Event, which has been held for more than half a century since 1952, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21 (5:30-10:00 pm) at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. "Early bird" discounted pricing is in effect until June 15 for firms wishing to sponsor the gala. Platinum sponsorships (reserved table of ten), normally $5,000, are $4,000. Gold sponsorships (reserved table of five), normally $2,500 are $2,000. Individual tickets are $350 each. Sponsors receive prominent visibility throughout the Association's extensive pre/post event print/electronic/social media campaign, website roster, printed program, table and venue signage. The Franklin Event recognizes individuals making a significant contribution to society and/or the graphic communications industry. Individuals are chosen for recognition by the Franklin Event Committee based on their accomplishments, irrespective of outside factors such as political affiliation and social status. Net Franklin proceeds have been designated to support the educational goals of metro NY/NJ students desiring a career in the graphic communications industry and are not used for administrative, legislative or other unrelated purposes.
