Superior Lithographics CEO recognized as 2011 Executive of the Year

Press release from the issuing company

Los Angeles - Superior Lithographics, California's leading large-format packaging printer, today announced that its Founder & CEO, Doug Rawson, has been named 2011 Executive of the Year by the Printing Industries Association, Inc. of Southern California (PIASC). The PIASC is the largest affiliate of Printing Industries of America, the national trade association for the printing and graphic arts industry. The award recognizes Mr. Rawson's contributions to the industry as a longtime member of the PIASC board, and the visionary behind Superior Lithographics' innovation and success.

"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by my colleagues in the printing industry with this prestigious award," said Mr. Rawson. "I'm privileged to lead a company that is committed to delivering the highest levels of service to our customers, and continues to drive innovation in the printing industry."

Doug Rawson founded Superior Lithographics in 1988 with three employees and a used Man Rolland 50" press. Under his leadership, the company has grown steadily over more than two decades, and now generates nearly $20 million in annual revenues. Even as the printing industry and business world as a whole were hit hard by the recession, Superior Lithographics stayed profitable, seeing ten percent annual growth over the last two years.

Central to Doug's success has been his emphasis on service, making Superior Lithographics the clear choice for large-format and packaging printing projects. In addition to lightning-fast turnaround times and state-of-the-art equipment, Doug and his team continually focus on innovation, including providing clients with real-time delivery notifications utilizing iPads and offering new concepts in interactive packaging leveraging Quick Response codes. Doug has also put a high priority on sustainability. Superior Lithographics is currently undergoing certification as a carbon-neutral print and packaging facility, has been approved as a Chain-of-Custody facility from both the SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and has instituted an enterprise-wide program to reduce Superior's greenhouse gas emissions.

Doug will be presented with the PIASC award at the organization's annual Graphics Night on March 26, sponsored by AT&T Business Solutions, Allstate Benefits, Atlas Broadband, Blue Shield of California, Blue Shield of California Life & Health Insurance Co., CIGNA Healthcare of California, Citizens Business Bank, Graphic Electric, Inc., Health Net, Heidelberg USA, Inc., Humana Specialty Benefits, Kaiser Permanente, Landmark Healthcare, MMi, PIASC Insurance Services, The Hanover Insurance Group, Preferred Employers Insurance Co., Ricoh Business Solutions, The Hartford, Unisource, Western Dental Services, Inc., and Xerox.
