DesignMerge for Adobe InDesign CS5 now available

Press release from the issuing company

Meadows Publishing Solutions today announced DesignMerge Pro Variable Data Printing software is now available for Adobe InDesign CS5. This new release offers many performance enhancements and new features. The software will be demonstrated in booth #2918 at the On Demand Expo, March 22-24, 2011 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.

The latest release of DesignMerge for Adobe InDesign supports the following new features:

Built-In Consecutive Numbering – Automatically add consecutive numbering to any of your VDP jobs by simply adding a new DesignMerge Keyword Link anywhere in your document. Numbering jobs are incredibly easy to implement using this new feature.

2D Bar Code Support – Create one-off or fully variable QR Code or Data Matrix bar codes directly in your InDesign document. This is a great option for everything from PURL's to POP material.

Variable Group Support – The new MPS GroupPicture module is now bundled with DesignMerge Pro. This module allows the user to create special InDesign groups that can be referenced as variable elements, much in the same fashion as pictures. The module is fantastic for applications such as personalized coupons, and streamlines document automation processes such as custom catalogs.

New Picture Positioning Options – The latest version of DesignMerge for Adobe InDesign introduces new Variable Picture Positioning options, giving you even more control over the position and size of any VDP job's variable pictures.

Master Page Variables – DesignMerge now supports embedded variables on Master Pages. Use this feature to conditionally swap out and personalize Master Page elements during a merge session.

New Multi-up Options – Use the new Sequence Page Items feature to create multi-up layouts directly inside of your InDesign documents. This new feature works easily in conjunction with the InDesign "Step and Repeat" feature, and fully supports all DesignMerge options including bar coding.

Full Scripting Support – With the optional MPS Scripting Module, in addition to document automation support, DesignMerge customers can now design their own custom "Actions" that can be triggered conditionally via the DesignMerge Rules module. Examples include "case change" operations, "PDF sampling" applications, and more. The options are truly unlimited!

Style Tag Support – MPS Tags are a custom set of "style tags" that can be embedded in data to provide pinpoint control over the styling of text during a merge. The style tags can be used to conditionally change the Font, Color, Style Sheets, and other settings dynamically as data is merged into the InDesign document layout.
