Polytype unveils its revitalised identity at FESPA Digital

Press release from the issuing company

Swiss digital printing technology manufacturer Polytype, which last year consolidated subsidiary WP Digital into its overall group structure, has announced that it will concentrate on applications at the FESPA Digital 2011 exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. As well as making an announcement on the first day of the show, the company will display how its powerful, versatile family of Virtu wide-format UV-curable printers can be applied to an array of printing environments, including decorative, graphic arts and industrial.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Polytype will emphasise to visitors the full range of applications and end markets possible with a refreshing selection of innovative jobs output onto a cornucopia of rigid and flexible materials, both standard and unusual. While its Virtu systems in popular configurations offer exceptional speed, quality and cost of ownership advantages for display producers, Polytype regularly tailors full industrial printing lines to a user's specification - a practice which has made it a market leader in other industrial printing segments, such as tube and cup printing and converting.

Polytype combines its broad experience and technology development to reach beyond the sale of individual units to create solutions finely tuned for each client's business. "Our ethos extends far beyond the installation and support of a single machine, which is why we will dedicate our stand area at FESPA Digital to showing visitors how we can provide a solution based on their needs rather than pre-manufactured specifications," explains Sylvia Muhr, director of European sales for Polytype. "We are unusual in this market in that we work with our clients extensively to combine their expertise in their field with our precision engineering to create a specific printing solution which is designed exactly for their workload."

Visitors at FESPA Digital will have the chance to discuss what they are looking for in a total print solution with the company's experts at the show, and book demonstration sessions at Polytype's headquarters in Fribourg, Switzerland or at other locations. They can also learn how Polytype assists its customers with technical services, maintenance, training and other complementary services.

"At Polytype, we first of all gauge exactly what our client needs from the machinery, explaining our full range of options and helping to identify the best fit for specific production business requirements," Muhr continues. "When we have a full understanding of their needs, we can arrange for a tailored demonstration at our Swiss headquarters. We can emulate the client's own plant much better in our showroom than in a limited trade show space, and therefore show them the full power and capability of the solution they require.

"We won't be hiding behind generic test prints or jargon numbers and terminology, but instead will show how we can customise the end solution to the client's precise specification before performing a full and thorough installation at their premises. It's this dedication to a new type of customer service that we will really be showing at FESPA Digital 2011," Muhr adds. "Polytype's Virtu range gives all types of business not only the chance to excel in what they do now, but also the quality to compete in innovative new sectors."

The Virtu range has been developed by Polytype to meet and exceed the stringent quality requirements demanded by an array of applications, including graphic display production, fully operational glass printing lines and various industrial purposes. The fully hybrid 2.5m Virtu RS25 and 3.5m Virtu RS35 sport a robust table as part of the machine's construction, offering the versatility to print on both flexible materials and rigid substrates of unlimited length in six colours plus white or spot varnishes. The RR50 is Polytype's award-winning roll-to-roll printer which offers impressive productivity and quality for graphic arts production and other jobs.

Polytype SA (formerly WP Digital) is renowned in the wide-format digital ink-jet space as a manufacturer of resilient, reliable printing technologies for the production of many different decorative, display and industrial applications. With characteristic Swiss attention to precision engineering inherent to all of its technologies, its Virtu range of wide- and superwide-format UV-curable printers is recognised for its ability to produce high-quality graphics on a practically unlimited range of substrates.
