RISO demonstrates new capabilities at On Demand Booth 2643

Press release from the issuing company

Danvers, MA - RISO, Inc. will demonstrate a new dynamic tray-pull capability, single-pass transpromo MICRprinting, and full-color envelope printing on RISO ComColor high-speed inkjet printers at Booth 2643 during the 2011 On Demand Exposition and Conference at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, March 22-24.

"We recognize that commercial and corporate production print shops often use a mixture of pre-printed, specialty, and plain paper stocks to produce transaction, transpromo, direct mail, and more," said Kevin Hunter, executive director of strategic marketing for RISO, Inc. "For customers with demanding brand management and complex document assembly requirements, our new dynamic tray capability gives RISO ComColor customers what only RISO can deliver: the ability to print full-color data, images, and more on multiple paper stocks at speeds up to 150 PPM. With full-color running costs as low as two cents perpage and a realistic duty cycle of 500,000 images per month, RISO ComColor high-speed, full-color inkjet printers are fast, affordable, and dependable."

At On Demand, RISO will demonstrate:

- New ComColor dynamic tray pull functionality that automatically pulls and prints up to four different paper stocks on-the-fly for complex transaction, transpromo, and direct marketing applications. This new advanced capabilityenables corporate in-plant, direct mail, and service bureau print-and-mail operations to migrate existing multi-stock applications easily and add value to new applications that require the use of pre-printed forms where exact color matching on logos or other high-quality graphics are required. RISO will demonstrate this new functionality on a wide range of multi-stock applications, including AFPDS and other production datastreams,  using Solimar Print Director Enterprise, Solimar Rubika, Objectif Lune PlanetPress Suite and GMC PrintNet T Designer.

- Single-pass full color MICR check and transpromo application. Working in conjunction with partners GMC Software Technology, Arcis Digital Security, Kirk-Rudy, and The Solutions Group, RISO will utilize the ComColor high-speed inkjet printing system to produce the next generation of secure, full-color customer communications at up to 120 PPM while eliminating the need for pre-printed security check paper stocks. Using plain or pre-perfed white paper means the entire job can be done at a savings of 70% or more using RISO high-speed inkjet printers and accessories. The MICR inkjet solution simplifies short-run check printing with unprecedented cost efficiency and full ANSI compliance. The integrated optical verification for MICR line and 2-D datamatrix bar codes ensures document integrity by cross-checking information from several data-fields to confirm the accuracy and compliance of every sheet.

- Full-color variable data printing on standard and windowed envelopes using a combination of ComColor and the Kirk-Rudy KR-324R shuttle feeder. Thisunique solution provides industry-leading, versatile printing capabilities by printing full-color variable-data envelopes including postal indicias and intelligent mail barcodes (IMB), at speeds up to eighty-five envelopes per minute.
