Fujifilm introduces Krause Smart'n'Easy Jet to newspaper publishers at America East

Press release from the issuing company

Valhalla, N.Y. – The Krause Smart'n'Easy Jet platesetter will make its U.S. debut when the Graphic Systems Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation attends the America East Technology and Operations Conference, held March 14-16, 2011.

The Smart'n'Easy Jet offers an opportunity for increased flexibility for today's small to mid-size publishers and web press operations, and is the most recent addition to Fujifilm's portfolio of newspaper products.  A result of the recognized engineering found in the LS Jet series, the Smart'n'Easy Jet is the core component of the new "Community-Newspaper-System" manufactured by Krause.

"Krause has long been recognized for its excellence in manufacturing and with the Smart'n'Easy Jet, Fujifilm is helping to set a new standard and creating new opportunities for small and mid-size newspapers," says Lane Palmer, vice president of newspaper sales, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation.

The Smart'n'Easy is available as a semi-automatic device or full automatic and is able to achieve production speeds of 90-100 plates per hour. The semi-automatic machine may be upgraded to fully automatic at any time.  The system makes use of a 60mW violet diode, resulting in low cost of ownership and replacement costs, and the Krause Monogon Juwel Optics promise high-quality imaging and reliable plate handling. The system also features optimized interfaces in order to ensure a smooth transition to CTP for smaller, regional newspapers.
