Contex A/S reports sound revenue increase in 2010

Press release from the issuing company

Alleroed, Denmark - Contex A/S, the world's leading provider of wide format scanning and imaging solutions, today reports more than 25% revenue growth versus 2009. The company also experienced a high year-on-year unit growth of more than 60%, as well as sound EBITA performance compared to 2009. A top brand in wide format scanning, Contex serves customers from a wide range of industries, including government, geographic information systems (GIS), reprographics and copy shops, architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC). The notable increase in unit sales is a result of an expansion in the wide format market during 2010, as more companies complement their in-house printing capabilities with wide format scanning.

"We've seen tremendous development in the business during 2010, and we extended our market coverage with new channel partners and solutions. We also expanded our OEM partnerships, bringing wide-format scanning capability to more customers," comments Aage Snorgaard, CEO of Contex A/S. "For 2011, we have numerous initiatives in the pipeline and are looking forward to an exciting year for both our channel partners and our customers."

In 2010, Contex implemented several key strategies to augment its market positioning, including the opening of a Singapore office to be closer to growth markets. Contex also signed several new distributors worldwide, including WYNIT Inc. and Synnex Corporation in the United States, GBC in New Zealand, PT.TIXPRO in Indonesia, and Detalhe Virtual in Portugal.

With continuous improvement in business performance and ongoing R&D-up to 15% of annual product revenue-Contex has optimistic expectations for 2011. The company is now focusing on growth markets, including Brazil, Mexico, India, Russia, Eastern Europe, Indonesia, and Asia. Contex is also developing new alliances with key players in the document management industry and is slated to launch several new products at industry expositions during 2011.
