Rotoman product leads to Elephant Trophy for Emirates Printing Press

Press release from the issuing company

A glittering haul for Emirates Printing Press (EPP) at the Grand Hyatt Dubai: The printing company from the United Arab Emirates comes away with the prestigious Elephant Trophy at the Sappi International Printers of the Year Awards.

The Sappi International Printers Awards are considered the Oscars of the printing industry and are contested by over 6,000 entries from around the world. EPP claimed the highest award, the Elephant Trophy, in global recognition of its printing excellence in the Web printed Magazines category. EPP qualified for this award by winning gold at the 2010 Sappi European Printers of the Year Awards. EPP relies on three ROTOMAN presses from manroland for magazine printing. Two of the printing systems, the four-color configurations, are arranged in parallel and can produce separately, or work together to print products with up to 32 pages in one folder. Mohamed Al Shirawi, CEO at EPP commented, “It is a great honor to be ranked the world’s best among the top printing companies around the world. You can’t be the best without putting in your best effort and that is something that EPP has consistently managed.”

Always a step ahead

Founded in 1974, EPP has won over 52 awards up to now. Certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO18001:2007, high-quality printing and innovation are two of the main pillars of the company’s philosophy. EPP was the first printer in the region to invest in technologies such as UV varnish, UV printing, waterless printing, sheet-fed gravure printing, and various finishing techniques. EPP is one of the largest printers in the Middle East region and remains the leading national printer for magazines, books, catalogs, brochures, directories, annual reports, calendars for all leading local and international publishers, with print runs in excess of 400 million pages per month. Samuel Natarajan, Executive Director, EPP, pointed out, “We have to be the best in everything to ensure the survival and long-term success of our company.”
