Tensor Group ships sixth print tower to MPD in Sydney, Australia

Press release from the issuing company

MPD (formerly Marrickville Print and Design) in Sydney, Australia, installed its sixth TENSOR GROUP, INC. four-high tower in February, 2011.

The T-1400 single wide tower increases color pagination on one of MPD's TENSOR presslines dedicated to printing coldset magazines and newspapers. The expanded line will run 32 pages of four-color tabloids, plus 32 additional pages of black through the existing mono units.

MPD also operates a second eight-web pressline, with two TENSOR four-highs, an H-50 folder and six mono units. All towers are equipped with EPG remote inking, boosting start-up and makeready times, and controlling waste.

Martina Ruda, TENSOR's vice president, commented, "TENSOR has been MPD's press supplier of choice since 2002, and we're incredibly proud to continue to serve MPD as their business needs have exponentially grown and changed over the last decade. It's been a pleasure to watch MPD achieve their goals and time their major press acquisitions as each milestone is reached."

"We've completed six separate equipment orders with TENSOR over the past nine years, and each one has been very well serviced by both TENSOR and National Printing Equipment (NPE), TENSOR's local representative," stated Linda Tenenbaum, MPD's managing director. "What sets the TENSOR towers and folders apart is the thoughtful, printer-friendly design, the extraordinarily high standard of workmanship that goes into the construction, and the reliability. And, NPE is always there to provide whatever information and support we need."

MPD is Sydney's highest quality, fully independent cold web offset print shop. It is now in its 29th year of operation and is strategically located in Alexandria, just minutes from Sydney's central business district and its international airport.
