Flint Group Print Media launches two new sheetfed offset blankets

Press release from the issuing company

Next generation construction technology gives these new blankets long life and high quality press performance.

Flint Group announces the launch of two new blankets designed to deliver exceptional value and optimum print quality in defined sheetfed market segments.

For packaging applications, Zenith 660 is a robust, long life blanket with excellent on-press stability and great smash resistance, thanks to its thick compressible layer. The nitrile blend surface with optimum microhardness makes it suitable for printing on all kinds of board. But it’s Zenith’s superior gauge stability that sets it apart: superb ink transfer and maximised release characteristics coupled with an innovative carcass design deliver long life and high quality print.

For new generation high-speed sheetfed applications, dayGraphica DuraZone 5200 is designed to deliver the ultimate in print quality yet provide unmatched on press durability. Constructed using DuraZone compressible layer technology, previously only available to high speed web printers, the 5200 resists smashes and gauge loss brilliantly to maximise on-press life. The specially formulated face compound and smooth surface finish maintains sharp dots and excellent print contrast at the highest production speeds, and with its quick release characteristics, 5200 is an excellent choice for lower weight stock too.

Transfer Media Product Management Director Bob Mosedale gives some additional background detail, “Intensive trials at some of the most demanding printers across Europe have proven that both these blankets perform extremely well in their target applications. As sheetfed presses increase their running speeds, blanket design parameters originally used for web presses become increasingly relevant in sheetfed applications, which is why we chose to introduce DuraZone technology into a sheetfed blanket. But before we took the final decision to introduce these blankets to our customers, we carried out detailed comparative benchmarking, and we are now very confident that these latest additions to our Print Media portfolio will help win substantial new business for us”.

These new blankets confirm Flint Group’s commitment to ensuring best-in-class products are at the heart of its portfolio. Along with their wide range of offset inks, fount solutions, powders, washes and other press room chemicals, they reinforce the Group’s high quality value adding proposition.
