GATF/PIA & NAPL Announce Sheetfed Pressroom Conference

Press release from the issuing company

PARAMUS, N.J., JANUARY 13, 2004 – The 12th Annual GATF/PIA & NAPL Sheetfed Pressroom Conference will show sheetfed printers how to leverage the latest technology and apply advanced management strategies to grow their businesses in today’s rapidly changing competitive environment. The Conference will be held June 13-15, 2004, at the Marriott O’Hare in Chicago. A broad spectrum of top industry and business leaders will share their strategies for how sheetfed printers can move forward profitably under today’s demanding business conditions through a comprehensive program of general and breakout sessions, keynote addresses, targeted panels, and interactive workshops. The Conference also provides valuable opportunities for peer networking, enabling attendees to exchange insights on common challenges and opportunities. One of the first major conferences to be held post-Drupa, the 2004 Sheetfed Conference will devote its Mon., June 14, General Session to a special Drupa report on the latest developments from this international industry event. In an exciting keynote address, internationally known television journalist and adventurer Dr. Jeff Salz will speak on “The Adventure of Change.” Author of The Way of Adventure and a cultural anthropologist who has led numerous explorations into the wildest corners of the planet, Dr. Salz will show printers how they can cultivate a sense of adventure to successfully navigate these times of unprecedented change. Drawing on more than 30 years of exploration and expedition leadership, he will share his “Six Adventure Steps,” giving his audience the tools they can use to be adventurous in their personal and professional lives. The Conference also features targeted pre-conference and breakout sessions on key technological and strategic management issues ranging from “Reducing Color Variations on the Press” and “Small Format Printing: Digital vs. Litho” to “Printing on Less than Perfect Paper,” “Staffing the Printing Plant of the Future,” and “Suggestion Systems That Work.” Special events include a vendor-sponsored “Dine Around”; pre-conference educational sessions (extra fee required); and area plant tours. The plant tours, which debuted at the 2003 Conference and proved an attendee favorite, provide an opportunity to visit Chicago-area sheetfed printing facilities that have successfully implemented innovative technologies or procedures. Because the Conference addresses the full gamut of sheetfed printing issues, it has value for a wide range of personnel and executives, including pressroom supervisors and managers, production managers, lead operators, foremen, and technology officers, as well as company CEOs, and presidents. Conference fee is $595 for GATF/PIA and NAPL members, and $695 for non-members. Individuals who register before May 3 receive a $50 discount. Companies can maximize the benefits of the Conference by registering a number of employees from different areas to take advantage of multiple-registrant discounts.
