Solimar Print Director Enterprise enhances workflow integration

Press release from the issuing company

San Diego, CA - Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading global provider of production printing and secure document delivery solutions, today announced the release of version 7.2 of the Solimar Print Director Enterprise (SPDE). SPDE 7.2 is a major release of one of Solimar's flagship products that further expands Solimar's solution positioning into overall workflow tracking and output management across systems and printers.

The new SPDE capabilities integrate with Solimar's latest product, SOLitrack, which enables organizations to improve the overall control of their production job processing by identifying, monitoring and managing print jobs in real time.

"When used together, an integrated SPDE and SOLitrack solution solves many elusive workflow challenges for the production print industry," said Mary Ann Rowan, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Solimar Systems. "Our customers can now incorporate system wide reporting and job security controls with an easy to implement low-cost solution."

SPDE users commonly have sophisticated workflows that involve various processing stages prior to being distributed for print, mail, and archive. Users can now simplify job tracking and gain status information through various stages of multi-channel processing and delivery by setting "Checkpoints" in their SPDE workflow. With Checkpoints, users can define specific customizable workflow stages to monitor, control, and manage. Leveraging SPDE Checkpoints, users are able to track project milestones such as "job received", "job processed", "job printed", "job archived", "job purged", etc.

This simplified approach to monitoring and managing today's complex print job requirements helps users at all levels of print operations track, manage and take action on jobs being processed based on their assigned security rights. This enables users to centrally monitor each job's status and initiate actions, such as adjusting production priorities and schedules based on job deadlines or Service Level Agreements.

With the added support for the latest Windows operating systems, SPDE 7.2 also has many enhancements and additional functionality designed to increase user productivity and processing efficiency.

"2011 marks Solimar's 20th anniversary as a software solution provider. Over the last two decades Solimar has supplied leading output management solutions to thousands of businesses worldwide," said Rowan. "With the latest generation of SPDE and SOLitrack, we are proud to continue the tradition of solving complex business problems related to our customers' very diverse infrastructures."
