The Associates in Print & Paper Technology award first bursary

Press release from the issuing company

The Associates in Print & Paper Technology (APPT) awarded their first Bursary in December 2010. After much debate amongst members of the APPT, it was decided that a bursary should be awarded to a deserving candidate within paper or print training or apprenticeship. This will be an annual award and nominations for 2011 are welcome.

The 2010 recipient was Steven Marsh at the Leeds City College of Technology Printing Dept. Steven combines his print training course with assisting his mother, to care for his father who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. He has been a model student at the college in spite of the restrictions and limitations to his time. His diligence to both his work and family responsibilities has been exceptional.

The award consisted of a financial payment spread across the three course terms, plus an engraved memento, and a scroll. The award was made at the college in December by Kevin Booth, a long term member of the APPT.
