Oce adds greater depth to its color printing range

Press release from the issuing company

7th January 2004 -- Oce has strengthened its color printer offering with new technology to complement its successful Océ CPS700 color production system. The Océ CS170 and CS220 systems are competitively priced, entry-level color multi-functional devices, suitable for print volumes up to 14,000 sheets per month. They provide an ideal first step into color printing, allowing users to build up volumes towards the production printing levels at which the Océ CPS700 takes over. The quality of output of the CS170 and 220 is also complementary to the CPS700, due to the CS170 and CS220’s new polymerized toner, which provides a 600 x 1800 dpi equivalent matt finish. The systems are aimed predominantly at corporate work groups and departments, while print-for-pay and copy shop users might also use the CS170 and CS220 in support of production-level printing systems. Print output is up to 20 ppm A4 color on the CS170, and 31 ppm on the CS220. Paper sizes run up to oversize A3 and up to 256 gsm. They are modular systems, offering flexibility in functionality (print, copy, and scan-to a range of options), finishing (including bookletmaking), and paper input. In addition, the Océ CS170 and CS220 are driven by an EFI Fiery front end controller, incorporate sophisticated ColorWise colour management tools, and include both duplex and mailbox functionality as standard.
