Bring Citymail Sweden invests in new Pitney Bowes high speed letter sorter

Press release from the issuing company

Bring Citymail, a private post organisation in Sweden, has invested in the new Vantage high speed letter sorter from Pitney Bowes.

Bring Citymail is the main challenger to Sweden's national postal operator, delivering to around 2.5 million households in Sweden. The company specialises in industrial post for business customers, i.e. direct mailings from businesses to other businesses or to private persons.

The new Vantage high speed sorter from Pitney Bowes will enable Bring Citymail to generate new business through the processing of unsorted letters, resulting in a more competitive service for its customers. Until now, the processing of high volumes of unsorted letters and office mail has been without real competition in Sweden. Pitney Bowes' Vantage will support Bring Citymail in targeting targets this new market and helping Swedish customers to save money.

First launched in September 2010 at the PostExpo show in Copenhagen, the Pitney Bowes Vantage is able to sort up to 45,000 mailpieces and business flats per hour and is the latest sortation solution from Pitney Bowes.

The Vantage is designed to provide the mailing industry with a modular and scalable solution. This includes the capability to equip the system with a high speed inline scale and an inline postage meter to further streamline mailing workflows.

Henrik Jonsson, Project Manager Bring Citymail, comments: "This investment in leading technology from Pitney Bowes opens up a new market for us and enables us to provide our customers with choice and best-value around the processing of unsorted mail."

Stefan Berndt, Product Manager Sortation, Pitney Bowes, comments: "With the launch of The Vantage we are offering mailers the precise level of modularity and flexibility required to maximise the opportunities afforded by today's competitive marketplace. We are delighted to supply Bring Citymail with this industry-leading solution."
