Mostad Printing to implement Technique MIS

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL - Technique Inc., a leading provider of modular ERP/MIS software solutions to the printing industry, announces that implementation of their full MIS system is currently underway at Mostad Printing. Although the heatset web printer has been in business for over 40 years, there is a distinct and palpable air of renewed focus and vitality to the organization. The new leadership team has their focus set on future success and Technique MIS will play a major role in laying the foundation for growth in current and future markets.

Great Fit for Web printers

Troy Illes, President of Mostad, comments, “I started looking at Technique just before Drupa in 2008 and certainly did my due-diligence! We looked closely at approximately 20 different ERP/MIS applications from a variety of vendors and what became evident was that most were not designed or optimized for our type of printing. Therefore, many of the things that are important to us as heatset web insert printers in terms of functionality, require major workarounds or simply aren’t available. Although almost anything is possible in terms of software modification, no MIS vendor will tell you that those modifications are free; and the money adds up quickly in that sort of conversation! Getting to the point, although the Technique system handles a range of printing methods, there really is some great built-in functionality for web printers. Almost every function that we asked about such as contract pricing, advanced shipping functionality, on-line quoting, machine interfaces for our presses, etc. was and is available without any major modification needed for our business.”

Building on Success

“We are delighted to add Mostad Printing to the increasing number of publication and insert printers who see the benefits that Technique MIS can bring to their business efficiency and to their profitability. Troy has big plans for Mostad’s future and will be able to use Technique as the foundation to make informed decisions in an accurate and timely way.” said Chris Wood, President, Technique Inc.
