Press release from the issuing company
Greenwich, CT – Presstek, Inc., a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, today announced that Brooklyn-based Advanced Digital Printing has enhanced its production capabilities by adding a five-color Presstek 75DI digital offset press with aqueous coater to its equipment portfolio. Advanced Digital Printing also operates a Presstek 52DI-AC. With its larger format size, ability to handle thicker stock, six minute job-to-job change over, and on-press platemaking, the 75DI significantly increases Advanced Digital's production capacity while expanding the range of applications the company can produce.
"We are big believers in technology and are excited about the new capacity and capability the 75DI adds to our business," said Elazar Wadler, Chief Information Officer for Advanced Digital Printing. "When we combine our internal laser die cutting, folding and gluing capability with the speed, quality, and versatility of DI printing, including inline aqueous coating on both presses, we are very competitive." In addition to printing books, marketing collateral, and direct mail pieces for its customers, Advanced Digital is also producing sample and promotional packaging materials.
"We are pleased to once again expand our partnership with Elazar and Advanced Digital Printing as they continue to grow their business by producing more applications and serving new market segments," said Joe Demharter, Presstek's Vice-President of Sales. "The impact the 75DI will have on their business is truly impressive. Elazar's analysis showed that with the faster turnaround time and larger format size, his production capacity will triple with the 75DI."
Wadler adds, "We also looked at conventional offset and CTP as part of our analysis. It was 'a no brainer' to add additional DI capability, the 75DI allows us to go from digital file to printed sheet five times faster and much more cost effectively than using a conventional offset press."
The Presstek 75DI digital offset press offers high quality (300 lpi or stochastic screening); extreme automation (job-to-job turnover, including plate imaging, in six minutes); and a small environmental footprint with waterless printing technology, chemistry-free imaging, fast run-up for minimal waste, and consistent quality from job-to-job and within each job. The press is available in 4- to 10-color configurations.
