Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Press release from the issuing company

Woodridge, IL - El Metro de la Ciudad, S.A., located in the city of Panama, in the Republic of Panama, purchased a two tower, one folder TENSOR GROUP, INC. semi-commercial press, equipped with UV capability. The T-400BE press is scheduled for installation in the first quarter of 2011.

El Metro will primarily produce a 16-page tabloid newspaper using heavy 4-color process, with UV cured cover pages. The combination UV/coldset press affords El Metro with a range of production options to showcase the company's extensive product offerings. A variety of printed materials, including department store advertising inserts, along with the high-end El Metro newspaper, will be produced on the new TENSOR press.

The shaft-driven T-400BE towers, with helical drive design on the gear train and bearers on both the plate and blanket cylinders, will run at 40,000 iph. The H-50 folder is provisioned for a future quarter folder.

Prime Systems Inc. is supplying the 4-lamp UV curing system, which cures both sides of the web at high speed. The UV system is mounted after the last printing unit on one of the T-400BE 4-high towers. DCOS of Sweden is supplying the drives, full press control system and console. Jardis Industries is supplying two automatic splicers.

El Metro de la Ciudad, S.A., a diversified corporation, is completing a new building to house the press and publishing offices for the El Metro newspaper.
