Q.I. Press Controls clarifies December 8th press release

Press release from the issuing company

Q.I. Press Controls provides this additional Press Release to clarify and provide more detailed information regarding the Press Release it issued on December 8, 2010.

There are two court cases pending in which QuadTech has claimed patent infringement in the U.S. against Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC). The first case was filed in the federal district court in Pennsylvania, regarding QIPC's register control technology. The second case was filed in federal district court in California, regarding QIPC's color control technology. Recently the California court rendered a decision to transfer its case to the district court in Pennsylvania, at QIPC's request. Both cases will therefore now be tried in Pennsylvania. No trial dates have been set in either case.

In the December 8 Press Release, Q.I. Press Controls stated that federal district court denied QuadTech's claim. Q.I. Press Controls did not mean to imply that the case was over. In the first Pennsylvania case, the court ruled that there would be no temporary restrictions on Q.I. Press Controls selling its register control product in the U.S. while the trial takes place. QuadTech has appealed against this ruling, which resulted in the first trial being put on hold until that appeal is heard. The second trial is separate from the first, and is not on hold. No final rulings on infringement in either case have been made.
